Today we’re taking a look at last year’s flagship phone from Samsung, the S22 Ultra. With the S23 Ultra coming out in 2023, the resellers and Samsung themselves will probably be trying to sell off the remaining S22 Ultra stock. So, is it worth it to still buy an S22 Ultra? Maybe, probably, yea, it kind of depends? If you can score a decent deal on an S22 Ultra and get some trade credit for your older phone, the S22 Ultra could be an awesome upgrade. It has a strong GPU, solid battery capacity, and the newer still relevant processor makes it a good choice, especially discounted from MSRP. Before I got my S22 Ultra I had a Samsung S9 which was quite aged. The battery capacity was starting to become a problem and the overall performance was not good, even after a factor reset and slimming down my installed apps. Between the launch promos and trading in my S9, I really felt like I got a good deal on the S22 Ultra. I did opt to trade in with my carrier, it’s worth noting that doing this can get you substantial discount but, carriers in the US at least retain some control over your phone and it’s OS. For example, my carrier pushed down a lot of junk applications I had to remove or uninstall or freeze. That part of the upgrade was annoying but the discount was substantial, my S9 trade credit was something over the top like $700 when it would really go for about ~$200 on the open market. I’m curious about how you all upgrade, what phone do you have and what phone do you want? Check out the video and let me know in the comment section.
