Today we’re taking a look at the Poetic Revolution case for the S22 Ultra. Now that the S22 Ultra has been out for a while, prices are coming down and more people are buying S22 Ultras. The Poetic Revolution case for the S22 Ultra is a strong two piece interlocking type of case with two different screen frame options. You can either choose a frame with a built in screen protector or an open frame without a built in screen protector. It’s nice that both options are included in case you don’t want a screen protector or wish to use your own tempered glass option. In terms of case protection, the Revolution case features raised bezels at the top and the bottom of the case. This feature helps prevent screen damage by raising the entire phone a few millimeters up off of a flat surface. These bezels ensure that the rubber material absorbs the brunt of the impact and not your nice screen. So when the phone falls flat, the screen wont end up immediately shattering when high forces are unevenly applied to it. The bezels seem like they’re about 2mm tall so that should be plenty of protection for normal usage. The corner protection on this case is good, each corner is molded to be strong but still somewhat flexible to help absorb fall damage on the corners of the phone. Both the top, bottom and sides of the case are also thick enough to protect the phone when it’s dropped at a bad angle and especially when it falls on a particularly hard surface like a parking lot. In terms of the button feel, the buttons were just about right, the pressure for pressing them wasn’t too hard or too soft. The USB-C flap seems very durable and it will definitely help protect your USB-C port for a long time. The speaker and mic cutouts are good sizes, no issues there. I like the S-Pen area, it’s nice and open to make it easy to eject and re-insert the S-pen but the opening is still well protected since the frame is rigid in this area. In terms of what the case feels like when you’re holding on to your phone, the sides are smooth but not slippery, it’s a rubber like type of surface. There are some ridges at the top and bottom for extra grip as well. The back side of the Revolution case has a slick design in my opinion, it’s not too flashy but it still looks good. This case does have a kickstand which is a must for me nowadays. I like to set the kickstand up and watch videos while I’m around the office or the house. As I mentioned and you saw so far, this case does come with two screen frame options, the built in screen protector and open frame without screen protector. Both frame options completely interlock and form a good seal, it’s really up to your preference which you use. The built in screen protector material is a good thickness, it will stand up to everyday type scratches no problem. I think the thickness and scratch resistance is ideal. The fingerprint reader section did not impede the sensor from working which is awesome to see, Poetic uses a different material or thickness in that section to make sure your fingerprints can still be correctly read and verified. You can opt for the open frame instead of the screen protector if you prefer the feel of the S22 Ultra glass or you want some other type of screen protector. If you go this route, I would highly suggest looking into a tempered glass screen protector. In terms of the camera protection, the cutout on the backside of the case is a good size and depth. The cameras are raised a few millimeters above where a flat surface would make contact with the phone. This should provide good enough protection for most people. The cameras are a big part of smartphones and you need to protect them somehow. Overall, I really like the Poetic Revolution case for my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. It’s beefy and it’s definitely going to absorb fall damage instead of the S22 phone body. I like the design and think it looks like a good case too. If you like this style of case, I would definitely recommend this one to you.
