Today we’re taking a look at the Poetic Revolution case. Poetic sent this case over for review with the launch of the Google pixel 8. The Revolution cases from Poetic are dual layer interlocking case types which are my favorite by the way. We have two different front frame options to choose from which will lock the Pixel into place with the main rear case body. We have an open front frame option if you don’t want a screen protector or if you simply want to supply your own. If you do, I would choose a tempered glass screen protector. As for the other front frame option, we have a built-in screen protector. I’m a fan of this front frame because I think the screen protector is a good thickness and it seems relatively durable. It’s a guaranteed fit and it doesn’t increase the overall weight of your Pixel by very much at all. Whether you got with the open frame or the frame with a built-in screen protector, they will both interlock with the main case body in a very tight fashion. This is important for drops and tumbles as you want the case to actually remain installed on your smartphone. Both frame options also create a bezel of sorts along the perimeter of the front side of the Pixel. This bezel rises about 2mm above the height of the Pixels glass screen which means the case itself, screen protector or not, will provide protection for any flat surface drops. Since the bezel will end up touching the flat impact surface first in this scenario, the case will absorb and redistribute those impact forces which should help protect your glass. I’ve found most of the smartphone drops were on wood flooring, kitchen tile, concrete basements or sidewalks, or off my desk at work. Yea…I tend to drop my phone…so I need solid cases. The sides, top, and bottom of this case have a decent amount of material on them, and the corners do as well. I’m happy with the amount of protection the TPU bumper is providing all-round the phone body. The revolution case does feature a kickstand on the back, it’s always a favorite feature of mine. Whether I’m at work or in the kitchen cooking, I like to place my phone on its side and play videos while I move around the space I’m in. Switching back to protection, we have the tried-and-true built-up camera cutout region for protecting your cameras and the entire Pixel bar. The case forms around this to both create a bezel for flat surface drop protection and to soften any weird drops making sure the camera bump doesn’t get chipped or break on the edge. It’s a solid strategy in my opinion. This case does allow for wireless qi charging, no issues on my upright flat charger so that’s good. The USB-C port is protected by a flap cover which is awesome, these will definitely help extend the life of the port over time by keeping out dust and debris. No issues with the mic and speaker cutouts either. I would say the case feel on the Revolution case is good, it’s not slippery and I like the design. The Revolution case from Poetic is a solid choice for the Google Pixel 8 and I don’t think you can go wrong here so, if you like the style and features, I would definitely recommend this case. Until next time, stay charged up!
