Today we are taking a look at Tongate’s Mech case for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Tongate is back again sponsoring this case review video for the S24 launch. This is Tongate’s’ take on a more protective rugged type of case for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This is actually a case bundle, we have the main case body which features a sliding and locking camera door for enhanced camera protection but we’re also getting cleaning supplies, a front frame option with a built-in screen protector, another front frame that’s open, and were getting a tempered glass screen protector that can be optionally installed with the open frame. Kind of cool right? I haven’t seen a case bundle from another vendor that included this many options. Now that we know what’s included, let’s look at the actual case. The main case body is made from a rigid and strong TPU material. There was little flex in most of the case and the sides and the corners seemed solid too. Whether you choose the open frame or built in screen protector frame, they will both interlock with the main case body forming a tight seal to ensure this case stays together for the long haul. As for screen protection, the Mech case has you covered. Both front frame options extend about 2 millimeters past the height of the S24 Ultra screen. This means that both frames with and without the screen protectors will prevent the screen’s glass from a direct impact in flat surface drop scenarios. So, if you drop your phone off your nightstand when you wake up or drop it off the counter in the kitchen when your making dinner, or even the basement floor when you’re hopelessly searching for something, the frame and the casebody are going to make that initial impact and help absorb and redistribute some of those impact forces. This is an important screen protection feature that I look for in cases.
