Today we’re taking a look at the i-Blason Armor box for the iPhone 16 pro in Ruddy Red. Thanks to i-Blason for sending this case over for us to look at. The Armorbox cases from i-Blason are known for being tougher and durable cases. This case for the iPhone 16 pro is a dual layer interlocking case type meaning we are getting a front frame with a built-in screen protector that snaps into the reinforced main rear case body. I’m a huge fan of these types of cases, I think they provide solid protection for your smartphone, and they are usually a really good value in terms of dollars spent to overall value. The built in screen protector on this case is a decent thickness, it should hold up well over time to all of the normal stuff that comes into contact with phone screens. The front frame that holds the screen protector also has a bezel to it. What I mean is that the frame height is actually taller than the glass screen of your iPhone. This is a crucial screen protection feature because when you drop your phone on a flat surface like concrete or outside in the street, you don’t want your glass trying to take on that hard material, your phone will almost certainly crack. With bezels built into cases, the glass never actually makes that initial impact in flat surface drop scenarios. The bezel will always hit first absorbing and redistributing some of those impact forces which should hopefully keep your iPhone safe from cracking. In looking at the sides, top, and bottom of the main rear case body, we have a good amount of TPU material here which will definitely enhance the protection for your phone. TPU absorbs drops well and they even made the sides of the phone nice and grippy which I like. There’s some good corner protection here too, the corners are actually oversized to make sure that the case absorbs and spreads out those impact forces when it comes to corner drops or tumbles. The camera control button is new for the iPhone 16 series smartphones, i-Blason implemented a passthrough conductor strategy for this. It looks like it should be safe for the button, and we don’t have to compromise on protection or case strength in this area of the case. In looking at the back side of the case, we have a Magsafe magnet here which is awesome for mounting your phone in a car or for attaching those magnetics rings. They help with grip and are fun to fidget with. As for the camera protection strategy here, there is a standard camera cutout region, but we have a deep bezel here to help protect those cameras and lenses but crucially, we also have a locking camera door. This camera door actually has some substance to it, it clicks shut so it won’t open up when your phone goes flying and since it requires some resistance to swing open, it can actually double a kickstand for the case. Kind of a neat feature, protect your cameras when you need it or let you watch Netflix in the kitchen. The main rear case body as a whole is very strong, it had little flex in my testing and you really just kind of get the feeling that this case is built like a tank. This case should allow for wireless charging on most chargers which is good to see, and the USB-C port is protected by a dust cover. This will absolutely help extend the life of this port, I always look for this feature in cases that I use. Overall, I would say that if you are looking for a solid and proactive case for your iPhone 16 pro, the Armoxbox should be at the top of your list. Until next time, stay charged up.
