Today we’re taking a look at the OutXE ultra thin kickstand add-on for your Smartphone’s case. Thanks to OutXE for sending this over for us to take a look at. The TLDR here, you either bought a case without a kickstand, are thinking about buying a case without a kickstand, or you bought a case with a kickstand and it broke off so you no longer have a kickstand. OutXE to the rescue here with this nifty add-on. This Kickstand package includes two kickstands, each one about as thick as a penny or roughly 0.06 inches wide weighing in at 0.35 ounces. This is super simple to install on your case, basically with the protective sticker still in place on the adhesive side of the kickstand, position the kickstand so the edge of the arm is close to but not quite at the right side of the backside of the phone like how I have mine setup. Since this kickstand will work horizontally and can slide for vertical orientation, I would push the positioning of the stand back to the left just a little tiny bit more than I did on my phone to increase the stability when vertically stood up. Once you visually have a good idea of where you want to position this, go ahead and remove that protective film layer and place the kickstand on your case. You’re going to want to keep pressure on the base plate area of the kickstand for at least 10 seconds and you’ll want to leave it there for about 30 seconds before you actually test out the kickstand. OutXE didn’t include any cleaning materials like the typical 1-2 wet and dry wipes so if your case is dirty or just not as clean as it can be, you should clean it with something like an alcohol pad before applying. I would like to see OutXE include the prep materials but I know cost is a factor here, this is an extremely price competitive way to add-on a kickstand to a case. One more thing to note for the installation is that if your case has indentations or different z height surfaces on the backside, you want to try to keep the kickstand placed well for vertical orientation but you want to try to avoid having the kickstand rest on a raised part of the case. After the kickstand has sat for that 30 second period, you’re good to go, test out the horizontal and vertical orientations. I think this is a solid little accessory for people who bought cases that they really liked but wish they had kickstands or for those who had kickstands that broke off or didn’t quite work right.
