Today we’re taking a look at the Poetic Spartan case for the Samsung Galaxy S25. Thanks to Poetic for sending this over for us to take a look at. The Spartan series of cases from Poetic is known for being a rugged type of case with a good amount of overall strength thanks to the dual layer interlocking system that they use and a whole lot of TPU and TPE material. The Spartan case is coming with two front frame options, the main rear case body, and some cleaning and prep materials for screen protector installation. Let’s dive into the protection factors first. Both front frame options provide screen protection in the form of a bezel which extends up past the screen height for the S25 by about 2mm. This bezel is formed partly by the TPE rigid frame and the TPU material that surrounds it; they support each other well in order to protect the S25 screen. Most smartphone drops in my experience are on hard flat surfaces, tile flooring or concrete sidewalks for example. The bezel ensures that the case makes that initial contact with the ground and not the glass on the S25, that’s crucial because the case can absorb and distribute those impact forces a lot better than the glass alone which should help with preventing damage. You can opt for either the front frame with no screen protector if you like the feel of glass or if you want to supply your own screen protector. The other front frame option features a built-in screen protector. This screen protector is a plastic material with a decent thickness. This material should hold up well for the lifetime of the phone in my past experience. I like that this is included, it increases the overall value of this case bundle. Poetic also included the screen cleaning and prep materials, an alcohol pad, a dry wipe, and some dust stickers. Don’t neglect these when it comes to installing a screen protector, good preparation makes a huge difference in successful screen protector applications. As for the TPU bumper consisting of the top, bottom, and sides, they were all decently strong and interlocked tightly. The corners were reinforced with extra TPU material which is definitely going to help when your S25 goes flying. As for the backing of the main rear case body, it’s thicker TPE material which will help provide good protection in almost all drop scenarios. The Spartan case pays attention to grip which also helps with case protection. The sides of the phone have these grippet slotted sections and the backing has 3 textured areas where your hands will hold onto the phone. All of these sections together help to increase your grip in both dry and wet conditions making it less likely to drop the phone and just easier to handle. This case does feature a kickstand which is nice for watching videos on your desk or in the kitchen for example. We are not getting any magsafe compatibility with the spartan case but you can always add a magnetic sticker, something like what OutXE sells to the inside of the case. As for the camera protection strategy, the case naturally is built up around the cameras and flashlight section but we are also getting a sliding and locking camera door. This is a commonly desired camera protection element, you open it up when you’re filming or using the cameras and then lock it closed when you are done. This will keep the lenses safe and happy in the event you miss your pocket or bag and the phone takes a dive when you put it away for example. As for the charging, Poetic doesn’t mention wireless charging compatibility specifically but I think it should work on most chargers that have decent charging strength and that are lay flat. The USB-C port is protected with a flap cover which is good to see, this will help keep out dust, debris, and excess moisture from corroding or messing up the USB port. This case is relatively competitively priced in the S25 case market considering the protection, features, and included screen prep materials. The case will increase the overall profile of your S25 but if you need a good level of protection, I would definitely recommend the Poetic Spartan case. Until next time, stay charged up!
