Today we’re taking a look at the Supcase UB Grip case for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Thanks to Supcase for sending this one over for us to take a look at. This case is a part of the Unicorn Beetle family of cases so protection is at the forefront of the case design but this variant promises enhanced grip which is an interesting angle in my opinion. If I ask random friends or family members about what they look for in a case, nobody really seems to even consider grip as a factor for buying a case. Most of the time you use your phone, you’ll probably be holding on to it. This case prominently features grippy sections on the sides of the case and I found them to work quite well even with a more relaxed hand grip. This case is more than just grip though, we have some solid protection features as well. For example, while this case has no built in screen protector, the case forms a bezel that extends up past the height of the glass on the S25 Ultra by a massive 4mm. This might not sound like a lot but this will go a long way in terms of protecting your screen in flat surface drop scenarios. Think hard tile floors, concrete sidewalks, asphalt streets, your S25 Ultra’s glass is not going to win in any of those battles. The bezel ensures that when the phone drops on those surfaces that the case makes that initial impact and not your glass no matter what the angle of impact is. The TPU material they are using is strong but retains that level of bounciness I like to see, the case will absorb and redistribute some of those impact forces which is going to help keep your screen safe. As for protecting the rest of the phone, this case is sized right and reinforced well. Supcase drop tests this model up to 15ft which is quite good. The TPU bumper all around the perimeter of the phone is decently thick and relatively resistant to pushing and pulling on it without being more of a harder plastic type of material, I really like that. The corners are incredibly strong and the top corner opposite the cameras has a built in metal component as well. It’s quite sturdy and I think it looks kind of cool too. The case body is decently strong in my opinion, I don’t think any piece of this case is going to sustain damage that would actually break the case. I’ve used other UB cases in the past and this backing material has stood up to years worth of scratches, drops, and everything else my Smartphones go through for testing. This case is coming with MagSafe support which is awesome, magnetic rings and car mounts for navigation are very useful. The magnet is also doubling as the kickstand which is nice, super useful for watching videos at your desk or around the house. It’s also in the shape of a ring too so if you want one, it’s built in. As for the camera protection strategy, we have two open sections here, one for the three cameras on the left and a smaller opening for the right camera and flash light. I like that they included this small material here to act as a wall and enclose the camera area a little bit more, this gives you a little more protection and will help keep out some dust. This camera area does feature some raised bezel sections, they’re about 2mm taller than the case body so we have some decent protection here on flat surface drops. As for wireless charging, it worked on my QI charger but you will want to make sure the phone is actually charging before you walk away. The thicker the case, the more attention you have to pay to the charging session starting. The USB-C cutout was a good size, my larger USB-C cable fit well and the S-Pen bay size was also good. No issues removing or reinserting the S-Pen. Overall, I would say this is a nice variation to the Supcase UB family of cases. If you are looking for some solid protection and features but without utilizing the two layer interlocking frame design, this case would definitely be what you are looking for.
