Today we’re taking a look at the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. The Paperwhite Kindle is a solid overall reader device in that we’re getting a 6.8inch display with thinner borders than you might be used to on older models. The screen is adjustable from an amber to white background depending on your setting. The screen has a pixel density of 300ppi so the text is crisp and clear. Its super easy to read on the couch, outside, in the airport, while waiting for a train, and of course, before bedtime. The battery life on this model is great as well, my better half uses this pretty frequently and rarely needs to recharge. The USB-C port is definitely a welcome addition for charging and the Paperwhite supports wireless Qi charging. The overall dimensions for this model come in at 6.9inches by 4.9inches by 0.32inches thick and it’s weighing in at 7.23 ounces before you add a case or screen protector so I would say this is nice and portable and easy to just hold on to during longer reading sessions. The Paperwhite is IPX8 rated and is water resistant, getting caught in the rain or an accidental dip in the kitchen sink shouldn’t be an issue. You can accessorize your Kindle with cases, screen protectors and even docking or charging stations. Of course since this is a Kindle, you have access to something like 2 million audiobooks, ebooks, and other content. Everything from the latest bestseller to the stuff you bought and don’t even tell your best friends about. Overall, the Paperwhite is a solid value device in my opinion and if you are on an older model Kindle, it’s time to upgrade.
