Today we’re taking a look at the Crave Dual guard case for the Samsung A55, thanks to Crave for sending this over for the review. The Dual Guard case is a two layer case designed to provide some solid protection while maintaining a slim profile for your smartphone. There is an inner softer TPU sleeve which makes contact with the phone body to provide some nice soft cushioning. I know I have read that a lot of people prefer this to harder TPE for direct phone contact so this is nice to see. In order to get some structure and rigidity into this case, there is an outer hard shell made from a polycarbonate material. This outer shell is very rigid and tough, it compliments the softer inner TPU layer very well. This is a smart design in my opinion to provide some good protection without adding too much bulk and weight, it’s a good compromise in that respect. The sides, top, and bottom all seem well protected and the corners are decently tough, they didn’t compress as much as I thought they would when I pressed on them. The outer layer is also very textured which super handy, this helps to increase overall grip on the phone. Even though we have two solid layers here, Crave does state that wireless charging will work which is awesome. As for the cutouts, they look good here, no real issues with the case design in my opinion. On the backside, we have the standard camera cutout region for the classic Pixel camera bump. There’s a little bit of a bezel here which helps protect the lens in flat surface drop scenarios. The Crave Dual Guard for the A55 comes in a bunch of different colors so if you like it, there’s options. I think if you’re looking for some solid but still slim profile case protection for your Galaxy A55, the Dual Guard series from Crave seems like a good choice to me. Until next time, stay charged up.
