Today we’re taking a look at the Tongate Wallet case for the Samsung Galaxy Fold 7. Thanks to Tongate for sending this one over for us to take a look at as well as sponsoring this video. The wallet case for the Fold 7 is bringing us some solid functionality, protection, and some privacy. The case can hold up to 4 of your physical cards which is nice, that’s honestly enough for me to go walletless since I only ever need 1-2 cards. The cards are held by tension from the built in clip and this case does provide some RFID blocking capability which is nice to have. I’ll be installing and testing this case out on a replica Fold 7 test phone to get a feel for it. As for the protection factors for this case, we have full coverage essentially, the front half of the case features a strong frame with a built in tempered glass screen protector that is privacy tinted for a 25 degree viewing angle. The screen protector is a decent thickness and Tongate says that the screen will retain its responsiveness which is good. The frame mechanism for this case actually extends up past that tempered glass screen protector by about 2mm which is excellent for flat surface drop scenarios on hard surfaces like concrete or parking lots. The main rear case body for this case is made from a tough Polycarbonate material and crucially, the bumper along the perimeter of the case is made from TPU. TPU is that softer more bouncier type of plastic which will definitely help protect your Fold 7 when it inevitably goes flying out of your hands. Looking at the camera protection, we have a camera door slider which I know people really like. Open it up for pictures and video and then close it up for some solid protection when your fold 7 lands camera side down. The cutouts for the USB-C port and buttons all seem to be the right size for usability while maintaining good strength too. Interestingly enough, this case can fold itself to provide a horizontal kickstand function which seems like it would be handy for team calls or just watching YouTube videos. As for the hinge, there’s a good amount of material here, it should do well in protecting your Fold 7’s hinge over time. In general, I would say this case isn’t too slippery for being a smooth surface which is also nice. Overall, I would say this case is definitely bringing us some solid case protection and features and importantly, it doesn’t feel like you’re adding back bulk to the Fold 7 especially since it’s thinner than the Fold 6 was. If you like the features and protection offered here, I would definitely recommend the Tongate Wallet case for your Fold 7. Until next time, stay charged up!
