Today we are back at it taking a look at the Supcase Unicorn Beetle Pro case for the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. I’ve been saying it for a while now, I’m a fan of the Supcase UB Pro cases, I bought some before I started reviewing cases and I’ve kept on using them for various phones. The Supcase UB Pro cases are known for ultra smartphone protection, incredible durability, nice designs, and importantly, being priced very competitively in the market. For the UB pro here we have a two piece case model with two frame options. You can opt for an open front frame if you would prefer no screen protector or to use your own but, Supcase also includes a front frame with a built in screen protector which I’m most interested in and I think definitely increases the overall value of this case. Both frame options get installed essentially the same way, the front frame snaps onto the front side of the S24 Ultra. This piece is used to interlock the main case body to hold it in place. When the top frame is locked into the main case body like this, it forms an extremely strong connection that will definitely hold up in drop scenarios. Whether or not you choose the screen protector or open frame, both frames will prodive screen protection in flat surface drop scenarios. The frame extends 2 or maybe even 3 millimeters past the height of the screen. This means that if you drop the phone on the kitchen floor, the basement floor, or at the office, the case will make contact with the impact surface first which should help absorb and redistribute the impact forces. THis will greatly reduce your risk of damaging your shiny S24 Ultra. As I said, I’m a fan of the screen protector frame, I think having a perfect fit and easy to install screen protector being part of the package is awesome. It’s a good thickness and features a specially designed fingerprint area to help ensure your fingerprint still works. You’ll want to rescan your fingerprint of course after installing but it was smooth sailing afterwards. As for the main rear casebody, it’s a mix of hard plastic and a softer TPU material with reinforced corners. This extra material helps to provide excellent corner protection for drops and will really come in handy for those awkward drops where your phone kind of tumbles out of your hand. The sides of the case have a grip section which should help with dry and wet grip, I like to see that. Supcase rates the drop protection at a maximum of 20ft which should be enough for…anyone. This model case does come with a belt clip that’s hard plastic and super tough. I don’t use these personally but if you have an S24 Ultra and are very active at work for example, I think this is a good addition to the package for the price. The case’s back side also supports a kickstand which is awesome for video meetings with the front selfie camera or just for watching YouTube or movies with the phone on its side. As for the USB-C port, SUPCase has you covered with a solid durable rubber flap plug to keep out water, moisture, dirt, and other debris to protect that USB-C port. I really like this feature too, it has definitely helped keep the USB ports clean on my previous phones. The S-pen bay is plenty large, no issues with ejection and reinsertion. The back side of the case provides excellent camera protection. We have the standard camera cutout region paired with a raised bezel around the perimeter. We have at least 2mil worth of clearance here which should be enough for most rear side drops. That should prevent the cameras and lenses from making contact with the ground surface. This case overall is very robust and strong. This is the kind of case you want if you need that certain kind of ultra protection. If you want to be bulletproof on a budget, the UB Pro should be near or at the top of your list. If you’re looking for a slim fit case though, one that’s barely noticeable and provides limited protection, this isn’t the case for you. This is a bigger case but it’s also one of the best cases in terms of Smartphone protection. Wireless charging did work on my flat charger and SUPCASE says it should work on most qi chargers. The only real downside to this type of case is that while it provides substantial phone protection, it is on the heavier side and adds more overall volume to your smartphone’s profile. A small tradeoff in my opinion for the protection features. If you have an S24 Ultra, you probably want the best protection you can get for your Smartphone and I think the SUPCase UB Pro is definitely S-Tier. Until next time, stay charged up.
