Today we’re taking a look at the Poetic Spartan Case for the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. Thanks to Poetic for sending this one over for us to take a look at. The Spartan cases from Poetic are known for being rugged and tough cases with utility in mind. This version of the Spartan for the Galaxy S25 Ultra is an overall solid case offering. This case is built around the dual layer interlocking frame design that has gained a lot of popularity. We’re getting two front frame options, one open frame if you prefer not to have a screen protector or want to supply your own and we have the other frame option which features a built in screen protector. I really like having both options included, personally, I like the builtin screen protector frame. The screen protector is a good thickness and it’s a perfect fit. The fingerprint unlock accuracy was quite good as well. No matter which front frame option you go with though, you will be getting some solid screen protection from the bezel that this case creates. This bezel on the screen side of the phone extends up past the height of the glass all around the phone which becomes very helpful in flat surface drop scenarios. If you drop your S25 Ultra on a hard tile floor, concrete sidewalk, or an asphalt street, you do not want your glass coming into contact with those surfaces, it will be game over. The bezel ensures that no matter what angle the phone is dropped on those surfaces the bezel always makes initial contact and not the glass. This way the brunt of those impact forces can be absorbed and redistributed better through the case frame and TPU bumper, that’s the rubber or plastic like material that wraps around the case. This will help save your screen even when your phone goes tumbling away. Continuing on with the protection factors for this case, the main rear case body is very strong, there wasn’t much flex without the frame and nearly none with either frame installed. The TPU material I mentioned before is formed tightly and it is firm but still has that bouncy quality which I like to see in case bumpers. This case also features reinforced corners. There’s a bit of extra TPU material here which will come in handy when your phone inevitably falls down some stairs. It’s also worth pointing out that this case features some grippy traction areas on the sides of the case going all up and down both sides. In addition to that, there’s three areas on the main rear case body that have good texturing which will help increase your grip on the phone when installed in this case. The better your grip, the less likely you are to drop your phone in the first place. In looking at the camera protection strategy, we have a camera cutout section protected by a locking camera door. I’ve noticed people really like these camera doors and it’s not hard to understand why. The door has a decent thickness for being made from TPE or plastic and it can click into place either in the closed or open position which is quite nice. You can slide it open and close it easily well since it glides freely until locking in place. This case doesn’t offer magsafe accessory support since there is no magnet built in but you might be able to add one of those sticker magnets if it’s strong and thin enough. We are getting a kickstand though, very useful for watching videos at your desk or while you’re cooking dinner. As for the charging, wireless charging on my layflat QI charger worked well and the USB-C cutout was easily able to take my larger USB-C cable. I like that Poetic equipped this case with that USB-C flap cover as well, that will definitely help keep your USB-C port in good working condition a lot longer since it will be shielded from dust and debris. Overall, the Poetic Spartan case is an awesome case if you are looking for some solid S25 Ultra protection. We have tons of TPU material here shielding the phone at every angle, we got the locking camera door and USB-C flap cover, and of course the front frame with a built-in screen protector. In my opinion, this case is going to be a hit for the Galaxy S25 Ultra especially since it’s coming in just under $30 bucks. This case is definitely bringing the value per dollar here versus some of the higher cost cases.
