Today we’re taking a look at the Crave tempered glass screen protectors for the Google Pixel 8. Thanks to crave for sending these over for the review. The screen protectors here are 9H rated so they’re decently durable, they certainly look like they have a good thickness too. The screen protectors cover most of the Pixel screen with just some very small gaps on the perimeter which makes sense to me in case you want to install the phone into some other case, the screen protector won’t interfere this way. Crave is saying that this screen protector has an oleophobic coating which is supposed to help reduce oil transfer from your hands and fingers when using the phone, it seems to be effective, I did try to leave a bunch of fingerprints on the screen when doing the up close light slash dust test sticker phase of cleaning and I didn’t see much in terms of fingerprints. Each order of this screen protector actually gets you a two pack which is nice, if you do happen to run into an issue and the first screen protector is cracked, you have another one in the box. Installation was quite easy, I just used the included wet and dry wipe cleaning prep materials which you should totally take advantage of, then pop the alignment tool on to the Pixel phone body, peel the adhesive side of the screen protector and just line it up and drop. I did have a few air bubbles form but as the instructions said, I was easily able to just push them to the edges of the phone screen and the screen protector was fully seated or attached with no air bubbles. As for the adhesive on here, it’s a little sticky but it’s not like crazy glue or anything, you should be able to pull this screen protector off if you needed to. Given solid scratch resistance and good screen coverage benefits this screen protector is offering, and the fact that it’s a two pack, I think this is a good value for adding some beefed up screen protection to your Pixel 8 especially if you are using a case like the Neon that I have here that comes with no screen protector. Until next time, stay charged up.
