Today we’re taking a look at the Humixx Slim Protective Translucent Matte Shockproof Basic case for the S24 Ultra. Humixx is back sponsoring this review for the S24 Ultra launch. This is a soft touch type of case with a translucent backing piece that supports MagSafe accessories. The case backing is relatively rigid and the TPU material on the side, top, and bottom of the case are made from a firmer but still soft touch TPU material. The magnet included is relatively strong and I didn’t notice it affecting the S-pen writing. The case fits on the S24 Ultra relatively snug which is great, it also provides some screen protection in the form of raised bezels on the front side of the phone. The raised bezels essentially lift the phone up off of a flat surface by about 1.5mm and extend across the entire width of the phone. This means that if you drop your S24 Ultra on a flat surface like your kitchen floor or basement, the bezels will make that initial impact with the ground absorbing and redistributing those impact forces. This will decrease the chances of your phone breaking and importantly, the case has a slim profile and light feeling so it won’t feel like you turned your phone into a brick. The case doesn’t come with a screen protector, but you should be able to install most plastic and some tempered glass screen protectors if you really want to level up that overall protection factor. As for the camera protection, we have the tried-and-true built up camera cutout region. The case creates a bezel around this cutout creating a clearance of about 2.5mm between the camera lenses and any flat surface they might be dropped onto. Like I mentioned earlier, the TPU material on the perimeter of the phone will also help when it comes to awkward angle drops and the corners of the case seem strong and well built. The case has a nice smooth feeling and is actually anti-static which is kind of nice. I was able to shake the phone in this case with my Anker magnetic ring attached so the magnet is plenty strong for mounting. No issues with wireless qi charging and the USB-c port was a good size. There is no flap cover for the USB-C port though. In general, the cutouts for the mic, speakers, and S-pen were all good, no issues with S-pen removal and reinsertion. I’m a big fan of big and bulky cases for my Ultra phones but, this is a nice take on a slimmer profile and smooth feeling case with the added benefit of MagSafe compatibility. The smooth feeling is definitely something people want but as a word of caution, it will slightly reduce overall grip. That being said, if you want a light feeling case for your S24 Ultra on the go, this is a solid case choice in my opinion. Until next time, stay charged up.
