Today we’re taking a look at the Frost Black Unicorn Beetle Mag case for the iPhone 16. Thanks to Supcase for sending this one over for the video. The UB Mag case for the iPhone 16 is a slimmer sleeker type of case versus the beefier UB Pro cases. We’re trading in a little bit of the overbuilt protection to keep the profile of the iPhone 16. We are however still getting some solid protection here as Supcase has drop tested this case up to 15ft which is excellent. The corners are made of TPU and feature the air cushion design, there’s just a little bit of air in a pocket inside of the corners to help the case absorb and redistribute those impact forces when you drop your phone. As for the bumper all along the perimeter of the phone, the sides, top, and bottom are a decent thickness, good amount of strength from when I was pushing on different pieces of the case, and the fitment on my model iPhone was good. The case also forms a bezel on the front side of the phone. This bezel is essentially extra material that extends up past the height of the screen of the iPhone 16. This is a super important protection feature because when you drop your phone on a hard surface like a tile floor in a kitchen, a concrete basement floor, or even outside on a sidewalk or the street, you definitely do not want your glass coming into direct contact with any of those surfaces. The bezel all along the perimeter of the phone ensures that the glass won’t make contact with the ground, the case will. The TPU material will help with softening that drop similarly to how the corners help by shielding the glass. In looking at the backside of this case, we have some good camera protection here. We have a built-up bezel around the camera cutout region. The bezel is about 1.7mm taller than the camera lenses which will really help with preventing fall damage. This case also supports MagSafe accessories. I use a magnetic ring on almost all of my phones either to fidget with or to help increase my grip while holding the phone. These are also great for mounting your phone in the car when you are using a maps app. The magnet on this case actually doubles as a kickstand too which is nice. I frequently prop my phone up with its kickstand when I’m in the kitchen or the office to watch videos. This case is essentially all a softer type of TPU material, you won’t get that hard plastic feeling from TPE with this case if that matters to you. Since this case isn’t too thick, wireless charging on most chargers shouldn’t be an issue. Overall, I would say this is a solid case offering for the iPhone 16. I think we’re getting some good protection here with some nice features and the pricing is relatively competitive in the segment of cases. Until next time, stay charged up.
