Today we are taking a look at two of the TORRAS cases for the Google Pixel 9 series of phones. Thanks to Torras for sponsoring this video and sending these over. We have two cases here, one for the Google Pixel 9 Pro XL and one for the Pixel 9 which also fits the Pixel 9 Pro. Both of these cases are clear or transparent cases which a lot of people prefer when they get their favorite color or special edition colors. The cases both feature TPU and TPE material to give you a nice soft touch type of case while providing some solid case protection. The TPU material is soft and has some bounce to it so when you combine that with a tight fit around the phone body, this will keep your case safe and prevent any scratching or scuffing happening on the phone body from the case. The Pro XL case is rated for drops between 4 to 8 feet with the Mil 810G 516.6 rating and the Diamond case for the Pixel 9 and 9 pro is certified for the Mil 810H drop testing, or over 16ft. Both cases feature this built in additional layer that helps provide more protection in the form of reinforcing the strength of the side and top bumpers. Torras designed the corners on these cases to be very strong but still made from the soft touch TPU material. I tried pressing on the corners to see how they compress, and I think there’s some solid protection there because you get the cushioning of the TPU but the corner is still quite strong. Both of the cases feature Torras’s anti yellowing technology. Some clear TPU cases will turn yellow quickly, but Torras designed these to retain the clearness for as long as possible which is awesome. If you keep your smartphone for 2 to 3 years, this is definitely going to be a plus. While the main case body is decently thick here, Torras is confirming that wireless qi charging should work on most qi chargers which is great. In terms of the camera protection, both cases feature a camera cutout region with a built-up bezel. This will help ensure that the outer lens doesn’t come into contact with any flat surfaces when you drop your phone on the floor for example. I think both versions of this case are great options from a protection, overall profile, and value standpoint. If you like the transparent look where you can actually see the color of the phone you bought, I will definitely recommend looking at the Torras cases. Until next time, stay charged up.
